Samsung Innovation Campus launches free Python and AI certification for 400+ students across Latin America

Python and AI certification program

More than 400 university students from Ecuador, Guatemala, the Dominican Republic and Panama will take part in free training leading to a Python and Artificial Intelligence certification through the 2025 edition of Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC). The initiative is designed to broaden access to today’s tech job market without tuition barriers.

As part of Samsung Electronics’ corporate citizenship strategy, the program returns for its sixth edition across these four countries, working with higher-education partners to bring structured, industry-relevant learning to young talent.

Intensive, practice-first learning

Across 17 weeks and 200 academic hours, participants study foundational AI concepts, coding with Python and algorithmic problem-solving, progressing from core principles to applied techniques.

Learners engage with real-world cases aligned to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)hackathon to demonstrate outcomes and teamwork.

Delivery combines synchronous and asynchronous sessions, offering guidance from tutors and instructors experienced in technology, robotics and programming to support consistent progress.

The curriculum emphasizes logical thinking, creative approaches to complex challenges and effective collaboration—capabilities that employers value and that translate well beyond purely technical roles.

Participants and academic partners

Student cohorts are drawn from institutions such as the University of San Carlos of Guatemala (USAC), Yachay Tech University in Ecuador, the Technological University of Panama (UTP) and the Instituto Tecnológico de las Américas (ITLA) in the Dominican Republic.

By expanding access to rigorous training, the certification track supports entry-level tech opportunities while encouraging participants to design solutions that positively affect their communities.

Career pathways and support

On completion, graduates can leverage Fundesteam’s employability platform (an academic partner to SIC) to showcase their projects, build profiles and connect with opportunities across the technology sector.
